26. PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

26.1 A member, other than a member in receipt of the shift and penalty allowance at Clause 20 - Shift and Penalty Allowance, shall be entitled to the following holidays:
(a) Christmas Day;
(b) Boxing Day;
(c) New Year's Day;
(d) Australia Day;
(e) Eight Hours Day;
(f) Good Friday;
(g) Easter Monday;
(h) Anzac Day;
(i) Queen's Birthday;
(j) Hobart Show Day or another day in districts where Hobart Show Day is not a public holiday; (k) the first Monday in November or another day in districts where this day is not a public holiday (Hobart Regatta Day); and
(l) any other day proclaimed or gazetted as a public holiday relating to public sector employees for a particular locality or localities in Tasmania.

26.2 Where a member is absent from service on the working day before and/or after a holiday on leave without pay, the member shall not be entitled to payment for the holiday.

26.3 Where a member, other than a shift worker, is required to attend work during such a public holiday he or she shall be paid at the rate of time and one half additional.
